Can You Be Arrested For Using a Metal Detector In Parks?

Can you be arrested using a metal detector? The short of it is yes. On the federal level, in all federal parks, all US Parks, and historical sites and monuments there is no treasure hunting allowed. You could be arrested for just having a metal detector in your car in a national park. About two-thirds of the states has some type of restrictive park rules for the state parks.

In some parks, they will allow you to search but you have to pay $$ and you get a permit. In other state parks, for instance the historical State Park, they just say "no." It varies tremendously. About two-thirds of the states have some sort of regulation varying from "absolutely no" to "yes, you can metal detect hunt at this time.

In general it is best to ask if you're going into a state park, ask if treasure hunting is allowed. Most cities in the US have no restrictions on treasure hunting other than restrictions on vandalism; don't destroy property.

There are a lot of cities and counties want you to purchase a permit. It's not very expensive. They tell me it is primarily to know who is out there digging holes in the parks. Where I am located, the city lets you metal detect parks without charge, but you need a permit. No hunting at city buildings or historical sites. The county says, No to metal detecting in county parks. If you treasure hunt on private land, make sure you get the owners permission.

The Valuable Help of Social Security Benefits Attorneys

If there were frustrations that most Americans feel and share among each other, it might be regarding the issue of application for the various benefits under the Social Security. Mostly, those who apply for Social Security Disability benefits feel quite frustrated about the process of applications itself.

Claimants usually experience a feeling of inadequacy during this process when they get a denial letter as an answer to their applications for disability benefits. It was as if they were asking for privileges that they have no right to receive or are not worthy of.

However, whatever they felt are usually far from the actual truth. People who have truly acquired disability must be made to understand the fact that when they claim for disability benefits, they are not asking for welfare, wherein they are assessed if deserving or not.

The social security disability benefits are actually a form of insurance that people have paid for. Usually, people who have put money for this kind of insurance has intended for it to be a financial safeguard in case they or their loved ones become struck with severe illness or obtain injuries.

Thus, if you are one among those people who have put money for this kind of benefits and became disabled but was denied benefits by the SSA, it is but strongly advisable that you file an appeal.

Retaining an attorney to help you

You also have the right to retain a social security benefits attorney to represent your case. According to some statistics, claimants that have been represented by attorneys have become more successful in receiving their benefits. Following this fact, you must consider the advantageous points regarding having an attorney to represent your disability claim.

What an attorney could do for you

No cases are ever alike in social security disability claims. Expect your case to be entirely different as anyone else's is. Thus, your attorney's primary role would be the gathering of the specific details and fact unique about your case.

Here are some of the particular things your social security disability attorney could accomplish for you:

o Gather medical records and other evidences about your medical and health condition

o Evaluate / assess your case based on the SSA regulations

o Speak with your doctor about the need to have a medical report which would be consistent to the SSA regulations

o Acquire your Social Security files, especially concerning your disability claims.

o Request for a reopening of prior benefits applications

o Professional advice on the best ways of preparing your testimony for your disability hearing

o Ensure that your right to fair hearing is protected. Give objections on improper procedures and evidences.

o Makes sure that your benefits are accurately calculated once you win your case

o Immediately after losing your case, request for review of your hearing decision by the SSA Appeal's Council.

o Whenever necessary, represent the appeal to review your case before Federal Court.

Be reminded not to hire just any attorney claiming to be knowledgeable about the social security disability program. You would do very well if you check out his record for qualified and capable experience on dealing with the complexities of Social Security's regulations on disability benefits program and is familiar to the other unusual procedures under the same.

100 Years of Prayer Tradition - The Ten Boom Museum

The ten Boom family had helped save over 800 Jews from the holocaust. When the Nazi soldiers were capturing Jews, the ten Boom family led by Casper, their father, had helped hide the Jewish people who would come to their house. Their house was a secret hiding place for the Jews and the Dutch underground people were able to stay here for days or months or when the ten Boom family is able to find another safe house for them to move in to. Because of their decision to save the Jews and the Dutch underground, Casper had put his, his wife's and his children's lives in danger of being captured. He knew of the dangers but they decided to pursue with it because it was their way of living their Christian life and duties.

Unfortunately, in February 28 of 1944, this family was captured when a secret police came and monitored the house. Many Jews were also captured and the family had to be imprisoned as well. The first one to perish was Casper ten Boom. At that time, he was already quite old and in just a few days of captivity, he succumbed to his death. Later on, the rest of the family also perished except for one, Carrie. Carrie ten Boom survived and was lucky enough to be freed days before the rest of the prisoners were killed.

Carrie ten Boom had received numerous recognitions for the contributions of her family to saving hundreds of Jews. Today, you can take a glimpse of their life through the Ten Boom Museum in Haarlem, Holland. You can check some of the photos of the museum from the tenboom.org website so you can get a glimpse of what the museum looks like even when you are not in Haarlem, Holland. You can even take the virtual tour and feel like you're actually inside the museum. You will get a 360 degree view of the museum and get a clearer story about their lives back during the holocaust. Many people have said that learning about the ten Boom family had changed their lives and had increased their faith in God. By sharing the virtual tour to as many people as possible, the movement is hoping to reach as many who may also have a better sense of what faith really means and can have a stronger relationship with God.

The family had the tradition of praying weekly for the people in Jerusalem and for all the Jews in the world. The ten Boom foundation wants to continue this tradition that ended in 1944 when the family was captured. Now, more and more people are joining in on this tradition by praying weekly for the Jews around the world and for Jerusalem. It's a non-profit organization that does not receive any funds from the government of Israel. It is funded by the compassion of people who believes in their advocacy. Don't hesitate to get involved.

Webinar and Podcasting - 7 Benefits When You Listen To The Replay

Do you find yourself registering for live webinars, teleseminars or podcasts and taking notes while trying to listen to the presenter at the same time?

I don't know about you, but I find it hard to focus on the presenter's valuable nuggets when I am trying to take notes. At the end of the presentation I feel like I have missed out on both counts.

All of a sudden, your note taking isn't as fast as the presenter's presentation, leaving you frustrated that you missed an important piece of the conversation that you didn't get in your notes? Many of us don't have time to listen to both the live recording and the replay of that recording so what do we do?.

Well, here's a solution: I have put together some benefits of listening to the recorded version of the replay. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of benefits to listening to the live presentation but time is so important for busy entrepreneurs and sometimes we are looking for ways to save valuable time. These solutions offer some suggestions to help YOU save time in your business.

First of all, and most importantly, it does save A LOT of time! - If you don't have time to listen to the live presentation and then the recorded one, imagine all you can get done with the recorded version...

You can pause the recording to take notes and make sure they are the way you want them to read. When you are done with your note taking, you can resume the recording where you left off without missing a word of it. You can type the notes on your computer in a site like Open Office or a Word document so you can save them in your documents or on a USB Flash Drive or wherever you store your documents. From your typed notes, you can then repurpose them and put them in your own words to share in a blog post or an article by copying and pasting instead of rewriting another article or blog post. When you do this, you can offer a review in your own words and provide them to your clients/customers. You can record your notes in a podcast or Cinch and let your voice be heard. After the recording, you can include that in your blog post so that you now have both your own recording and written version of your review. You can take short versions of your notes and post them to Twitter and on your Facebook business page, and continue to do that for 3 - 5 consecutive days. After you take smaller pieces of the notes, you can then turn it into a report. Remember to use your own words and to mention the name of the presenter when you share the notes as a review.

There are so many ways to get the benefits of a replay of a webinar, teleseminar or podcast. I love offering solutions to help you utilize your time more wisely as you lessen your overwhelm and hopefully, you will see some benefits in these solutions.

Will NICE Caesarean Guidelines Prevent Cerebral Palsy Injury?

National Institute for Clinical Excellence Guidelines (NICE)

The media press coverage of the latest NICE guidelines has given the distinct impression that they will offer a caesarean section to any woman who wants one. It has even been reported by some as offering a caesarean on demand for the so called "too posh to push". That interpretation of the guidelines however is untrue and in fact what they do set out are the medical circumstances where one is recommended, as well as where one is not. What they also stipulate is that medical professionals should discuss all the options with a woman who has a preference for undergoing a caesarean birth.

In particular a pregnant woman should be given all of the evidence-based information about caesarean sections. This will include information about the reasons why a caesarean section might be used, as well as what the procedure involves. Importantly risks and benefits associated with a caesarean section must be explained by a doctor, together with any implications the procedure may have not only for the current pregnancy, but also for future pregnancies and births.

The guidelines go on to state that the clinical decision about whether or not to carry out a caesarean section should specifically take into account a woman's circumstances, together with her concerns and priorities.

In short, a pregnant woman should be fully informed about her option of a caesarean birth. She should know all of the implications that arise from her decision whether or not to have a caesarean section not only for that delivery, but also for any future delivery.

Cerebral Palsy

It is a recognised risk that when a woman, who has previously had a caesarean and in a later pregnancy subsequently undergoes an induced delivery, that her caesarean scar may rupture. If this happens then the baby may be deprived of oxygen and possibly develop cerebral palsy as a result.

Unfortunately this risk has not always been explained or explained properly to pregnant women when deciding how to give birth. Accordingly those pregnant women have been unable to make an informed choice about whether to decline an induced birth or elect for a caesarean birth instead.

It is hoped that the recent NICE Guidelines will now ensure that women are much better informed of their options so that they can decide for themselves what is the best and safest delivery for their own child.
